How long is your commute every day?
I commuted a lot between 2000-2010. My Prague travel-to-work time in 2009 totalled 780 hours.
If I had been teaching for those hours, rather than sitting in the car or on the bus, it would have earned me an extra 20,000 USD!
I felt like I was wasting my time, money and energy.
It was not environmentally friendly either.
In the summer of 2010 I moved to Stockholm, and three years later I founded my company LOS Language Online Services. I started working from home. I ran my business and provided tailor-made language consulting in English, Czech as well as Swedish.
My “travel-to-work” time in 2013 totalled just 9 hours, because it only took about 2 minutes to walk over to my computer.
In comparison with 2009 I saved 771 hours (32 days) and my carbon footprint was almost zero.
Question: What would you do with an extra 32 days?
Your answer: ____________________________
Over the years I’ve dedicated this additional time to helping our clients master their language skills.
